Employers may receive a wage subsidy.

Central Texas' participating employers may receive a cash bonus of up to $2,000 for retaining eligible new hires for at least 120 days.

Additionally, new employees hired under this program may qualify for a Work Opportunity Tax Credit (WOTC). To determine if new employees qualify employers for WOTC, contact the Texas Workforce Commission WOTC unit at 1-800-695-6879.

By hiring from this highly qualified pool of workers, who have lost their jobs through no fault of their own, you have the ability to select pre-screened qualified individuals, hiring prospective employees at your discretion, saving labor costs, and training employees to meet your individual business needs.


How do employers and employees participate?

Texas Back to Work, administered by the Texas Workforce Commission and Workforce Solutions of Central Texas, provides Texas employers with funds for wage, training, or other incentives for putting Texans currently receiving unemployment benefits back into the workplace.
