One-Stop Worker ReEmployment Portal

CareerOneStop recently announced the launch of a new Worker ReEmployment Portal. The Web site is designed to assist impacted workers following job loss, and to connect laid off workers to needed resources for training, reemployment, career planning, financial and emotional help during the process of job transition.

Users of the ReEmployment portal can go directly to their state’s unemployment benefits Web site, find information on health care coverage, guidance on dealing with job loss, and suggestions for job hunting after losing a job. Users will also find skill assessment and networking information. For those seeking to upgrade skills, the site provides information on short-term training and paying for school. In addition, the site offers one-click access to state job banks as well as tips on job hunting and suggestions on making it through the first days after a layoff.

Have you looked at the new national labor exchange web site, Job Central . It is the new partnership between private job sites and state workforce agencies.

Microsoft Office

FREE Microsoft Word, Excel and Power Point classes. Upgrade your skills or learn new ones.

The classes are offered on Thursday mornings and on some Tuesdays in the Killeen Workforce Center.

Classes are on a first come, first served basis. Classes begin at 8:30 am and end at 12:30 pm.

If you have a laptop computer with the Microsoft Office 2003 programs installed, you can bring your laptop to class and use it.

11 seats are available per class! Be early and get your seat! Sign up begins at 7:45am.

There are no classes scheduled for June.
