| Board Objectives Addressing Board Goals | Identify the labor market needs of businesses and job seekers to develop and market high-quality services which meet those needs.
Recognize that employers are our primary customers and that the employment and training needs of job seekers can best be met by first meeting employer needs. Make investments in education and training which will make Central Texas job seekers more productive and the employers they work for more competitive. Continuously seek ways to improve the local workforce system and the quality of services offered. Create an environment which promotes the development and rewards the performance of all employees in the regional workforce system. |
| Strategies Used to Meet Objectives | Continue to refine and develop services using the local Taking Care of Business database and the Business Services Unit service model to solicit, document, and address business and job seeker customer needs and expectations.
Continue and expand development of formalized partnerships with workforce partners and community based organizations. Refine marketing efforts to target key businesses and service areas. Use direct and indirect business contact data solicited by staff and automation technology to gather and assess current services and project future service needs Develop formal Memorandums of Understanding to define roles and responsibilities with key partnerships ensuring customer-driven service strategies, avoiding duplication of services, and promoting joint marketing and referral initiatives. Work with the Texas Workforce Commission to gain access to data to assist in determining key business market segments by use of the workforce system and by employee base. |
