Mission

The Central Texas Workforce System provides quality education, training and labor market services which give employers and residents of the region competitive advantage in the global economy.

Vision

The Central Texas Workforce System is a regional partnership of business, education, labor and community organizations which provides high-quality information and labor market services to employers and residents of Central Texas. We are the system of choice -- we bring people and jobs together for a better regional economy. All of our customers have ready access to the same high-quality labor market information and services regardless of where they are located in the region or how they come in contact with the workforce system.

Individuals are able to learn and work in their home, in school and on the job to realize their greatest economic potential and individual well-being.

The system is highly valued by both employers and residents. It is well-known, has a positive image throughout the region and is widely recognized as the premier local workforce system in Texas.

The system enjoys a growing and increasingly diversified funding base and is not dependant upon any one source of revenue for its survival.

By utilizing our services, employers gain the competitive advantage that comes with an adequate supply of educated and highly productive workers, and residents of the region find jobs and earn incomes that make them economically self-sufficient, lifelong learners. The system creates a well-educated, highly skilled workforce that attracts high-wage employers to the region.

Transmittal Letter

Billie O'Dowdy
Texas Workforce Commission
Workforce Development Division
101 E. 15th Street, Room 440-T
Austin, Texas 78778-0001

Dear Ms. O'Dowdy:

In accordance with Texas Workforce Commission's Local Workforce Development Board Integrated Planning Guidelines, Program Year 2000-2004, the enclosed Central Texas Integrated Plan document supports an integrated service delivery system that is constructed on current workforce development funded programs while focusing on serving businesses and citizens of the area through a comprehensive workforce system plan.

As is demonstrated by the Central Texas Plan, when developing and updating the area's plan, the local Workforce Board used a extensive assessment of current workforce efforts which lead to the identification of local goals, objectives, and strategies. The Central Texas Plan clearly advances the development and support of a skilled, productive workforce that meets the needs of the area's businesses and residents.

Workforce efforts in Central Texas and throughout the State are supported by the Central Texas Workforce System's Integrated Plan. The Plan is the foundation of a system that complements statewide efforts to serve the State's residents and employers.

If further assistance or information is required, please contact, Susan Kamas, Executive Director, at 254-939-3771, ext. 314. We look forward to your favorable review.

Sincerely,

Bill Stanford
Chair
