When making a career decision there are many resources that you will need besides job leads. You may need information on how to get there, where to live, a look at the schools, travel arrangements, motels, etc. In this section we have linked to these resources to make it easy for you.

Bigbook consists of a yellow pages phone directory combined with a search engine that can look for specific businesses and addresses in most US cities.
Hoovers contains a wealth of information on businesses.

ERI's Career Salary Calculator. Use these Calculators for a free estimate of annual mean salary potential and cost of living for over 4,750 positions and 7,200 locations
The JobSmart site provides an index of salary surveys. A lot of them deal with California, but you can use Homefair's salary calculator (listed below) to see what that would translate to in your market.
Planning on getting a job in a different city or state? Homefair's Salary Calculator may help you compare the cost of living in hundreds of US and international cities.
Leaving for another country and need to convert money ? The Universal Currency Converter allows you to perform interactive foreing exhange rate conversion. Boy is that ever necessary in today's global money markets.

  Directions and Lodging
Need a map of a specific address or driving directions ? MapQuest can give you the directions and show you the major highways and intersections near your destination.
Map Blast also lets you look at a map of your destination and gives you realistice directions on how to get from one address to another.
Leaving town? The Dallas/Ft. Worth Airport page which provides links to most major airlines and their schedules. They also include maps and other information on how to get around the airport.
The Texas Comptrollers Office provides a great mileage guide between Texas cities. If you are traveling on business, they even calculate your travel reimbursement at 28 cents/mile.
Try Sabre's Travelocity to check airline fares, flight schedules, and hotel availablility. You may need to sign on with a username and a password, but membership is free.

Need to buy a house and want to calculate the mortgage payment ? The First Source Bankprovides such a tool.
Considering taking a job in a different city and need a place to live ? The National Apartment Rental and Relocation Guide features a database of unfurnished apartments, temporary furnished suites, international rentals, and self-storage facilities.
Still can't find what you're looking for ? All Apartments has thousands of apartments listed all over the US. Some with floorplans & pictures.

You will have to register and they will ship it to you, but there is no cost.

Look at the Texas Regional Directory site to find resources in the state.
Job Fairs are great for getting in contact with a large number of employers in one place. Look at JobWeb's Career Fair site to find one in your area.
Need another car to get you to work ? Edmunds has great information on new cars and a guide on how to price older models.
Use the All Linked Jumpstation index site for finding almost anything on the web.
Switchboard lets you look up people, businesses, e-mail addresses, and web sites. You can also get a free e-mail address which will be useful during your job search.
Are you in the military? Militarycity can help you find people or get access to the Army Times, Air Force Times, Navy Times, and Marine Times newspapers.
Need housing information for military posts all over the United States? Try ArmedForces.Com
Haven't found a job yet and have free time on your hands ? Join the North American Stone Skipping Association. Necessary tools are very cheap.
