Hi - I'm Roy, let's talk assessment. Assessment
Products
Welcome to my assessment products page. This page will familiarize you with products that we currently have available for business use. These instruments are designed to assess persons applying as new employees or who are moving up the ladder in their current employment. The instruments offer an employer the chance to base a selection on objective information in addition to that gained in an interview or resume.

We are looking to offer instruments in the future that will cover a wide spectrum of

possibilities. So we are currently working to expand and improve our available products. We want to be responsive to your needs so we need your input. If you do not see instruments here that would serve you best, or you have suggestions on other instruments or areas of value to you or other employers, please contact me, Roy Highsmith at 254-200-2237 or e-mail me.

We are able to customize assessment to your needs and we will respond to all inquiries. Some fees may apply.

Tests of Adult Basic Education
This is a series of tests designed to indicate the approximate grade levels of a potential employee in the areas of reading, math, and language. The results may be used to see if the person is functioning at the level you feel is required for your job offering. The tests are generally related to basic job skills such as applied math and reading charts, diagrams, and text. In addition, it measures how well a person recognizes and can compose correctly written English. The reading and math portions of this test are available in Spanish.

Workplace Success Skills
This is an assessment of skills related to job readiness of the applicant in areas related to "soft skills" rather than "job specific skills". There is also an assessment for persons being considered for supervisory and management positions. The results include an interview guide for employers in the areas of the measured skills and suggestions on how to correct demonstrated weaknesses. This instrument is offered in English only. The areas measured include:

  • Interacting with Others - resolving differences of opinion or interpersonal conflicts among co-workers, resolving other interaction problems, dealing with angry or demanding people, and generally how the person relates to others in the workplace.
  • Listening - measures whether or not the applicant can understand and recall information delivered orally.
  • Structuring Work Activities - measures the applicant's ability to determine work priorities, recognize issues that should be brought to supervisors rather than handling themselves, and if they can structure their own work.
  • Trainability - can the applicant easily learn new skills and procedures and take on added responsibility with minimal training?

Assessment of Keyboarding and Data Entry Skills.
This assessment uses the R.D. Craig Assessment package. It measures skills in typing on a keyboard and data entry of numbers and text into tables and forms. The assessment information includes accuracy and speed and can be customized to your specific requirements. It takes about 30 minutes to complete and is available to you immediately. Employers can use this assessment to ascertain the abilities of a person for placement into a specific job. Job seekers can use it to see if they require some brushing up on skills, or as part of a job seeking strategy that involves proving your abilities to an employer.
